God’s Reign became the second Finalist for the Grand Finals of VCL SA Split 1, defeating True Rippers 2-0 in the lower bracket finals. True Rippers finished in third place for VCL.

True Rippers Roster and Lineup

The roster of True Rippers consists of Saaransh “Whimp” Dang as the IGL, Shravana “Techno” Sahoo, Chogyal “Kaizen” Bhutia, Philip “Aryu” Vergara, Nereus “d1srupt” Lico and Aditya “Pixelzz” Gulhane.

Match Recap

Haven started with GDR’s domination as they won the pistol, anti-eco, and bonus rounds. Round 4 saw a thrifty win, thanks to Aryu’s quad kill and a 3v5 situation win by TR. Despite being 5-1 down, TR managed to get a few rounds before closing the half at 5-7.

TR won the pistol round with Kaizen’s triple kill as well as the anti-eco round to equalize the score at 7-7. The rounds went close between GDR and TR, but GDR managed to close out the map at 13-9, winning the first map.

Ascent was a one-sided win by GDR as they won the first half at 10-2, and completed the map at 13-2, showing pure domination. Autumn won the MVP as he had a whopping ACS of 353 and a staggering KDA of 21/6/3.

With this, God’s Reign qualifies for the Grand Finals of VCL SA Split 1 alongside Orangutan, to be played on the 23rd of April, 2023 on Sunday at 9 PM.
